- Trudi Angell: Naturalist, historian, film producer and guide for back country mule and horse expeditions in Baja California, Mexico. Noted Baja traveler, having ridden the “Mula Mil,” a 1,000-mile mule ride from the US/Mexico Border to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico. Her expertise is derived from the study of both the historical El Camino Real trails as well as anthropological cave-art sites throughout Baja California. Worked for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in Baja, California Sur.

About the Author:
Tom Huntington is a writer, photographer, environmentalist and foundation management advisor. Member: Ohlone-Portola Heritage Trail Committee, San Mateo Co. 2018-2019. Delegate: Global Action Climate Summit sponsored by Governor Brown and Mayor Bloomberg in San Francisco, CA 2018. Participant: Global Climate Agreement, Paris, France 2015. Worked for the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) for over 25 years. Executive Director of the Friends of the River Foundation and worked six years on Wild on Scenic River Campaigns: Stanislaus, American, Merced, Kings, Kern, Smith, other North Coast Rivers and the Tuolumne River, near Yosemite, with TRTP. Tom has also worked on U.S. – Mexico binational environmental projects on the border including restoration of the Tijuana River and Colorado River Delta (2015 pulse flow). Awarded one of “California’s River Heroes” in 2018. Wilderness and river guide on ten-day Colorado River trips through Grand Canyon National Park AZ for over 30 years (60 trips) with OARS. Lived in Ethiopia for six months; boat travel on the Blue Nile, Omo, and other rivers. Graduate of the University of Oregon, B.A. Communications, emphasis on Rhetoric and Public Address, with a Speech and Writing Teaching degree. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and lives in San Francisco, CA. Over the past three years Tom has visited much of the 1,200 miles in the lands of the Native Californian Tribes and the Spanish Expedition 1769 route from Baja, Mexico to the SF Bay Area CA. Like many before him (see Reference Works), Tom has crossed paths, creeks, trails, rivers, roads, beaches, streets, deserts, boulevards, canyons, highways, valleys and mountains, in areas wild, rural, suburban and urban, by foot, mule, bike, van, drone and helicopter overflights. We hope you will join this journey learning about the tribes and trails and highways of the California Coast.
